Manchester United are ready to launch an onslaught for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose future is engulfed in uncertainty.
Many fans and observers believe that the Italian is coming off the best season of his career, and not only due to the trophies he assembled with PSG, but also for his exceptional displays between the sticks, especially on the road towards the Champions League final in Munich, thus cementing his status as a ‘generational’ star.
The 26-year-old produced absolutely shocking saves against Aston Villa, Liverpool and Arsenal, before enjoying a quiet evening against Inter Milan in the final, as his teammates tortured the Nerazzurri in an astonishing 5-0 beatdown.
Nevertheless, Donnarumma’s summer has been anything but serene, as his future at the Parc des Princes has suddenly become the topic of great speculation.
In recent weeks, it was revealed that PSG and the goalkeeper have failed to find common ground in their renewal negotiations. And with the Italian’s current contract expiring next summer, his future at the club is anything but certain, especially with the European champions acquiring a ready-made replacement in Lucas Chevalier.

This situation has sparked interest from all over Europe and beyond, with Man United emerging among Donnarumma’s main suitors. After all, the Premier League giants could do with an upgrade on Andre Onana, and have been pursuing the likes of Emiliano Martinez and Senne Lammens, but to no avail.
Some reports even identified the Red Devils are the frontrunners in the race for Donnarumma.
While it remains to be seen whether United are the favourites or not, sources close to Stretty News reveal that Man Utd are preparing to launch an offer worth £26 million for the Euro 2020 hero. This figure might be deemed sufficient, given that the player’s contract will expire in less than a year.
These sources also confirm Donnarumma’s great desire to embark on a new career chapter in the Premier League, hence why he has already rejected lucrative offers from Turkish champions Galatasaray and Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad who offered him a salary of €20 million per year.
