A dream Liverpool transfer is now on.
Even after signing Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak last summer, the Reds are not finished yet.
Liverpool are heading into a crucial rebuild in the attack once again this summer, and the need for reinforcements has now become impossible to ignore.
With Mo Salah confirming he will leave at the end of the season, the club are losing their most reliable attacking outlet.
That alone would demand a major response in the transfer market but the situation is even more pressing when you factor in that Luis Díaz was sold last summer and never properly replaced.
For months now, Liverpool have been operating without natural depth in wide positions, often relying on makeshift solutions or players being used out of their best roles when Salah or Cody Gakpo are not available.
The result has been an attack that lacks balance, unpredictability, and consistent threat from both flanks. Opponents have found it easier to contain Liverpool, knowing there are fewer players capable of stretching the game or winning individual duels.
Bringing in just one winger won’t be enough to fix this. Liverpool need at least two high-quality additions - players who can provide pace, creativity, and end product.
But who might that be?
There are so many names being floated about at the moment. Literally, so many it's impossible not to get too carried away.
The truth is that right now, possibly on Liverpool's recruitment team will know their next step. Who those two attackers will be is very much depended on what the data says and of course what the club's financials are.
Liverpool need to qualify for the Champions League in order to be able to continue to spend big and attract the best players on the market.
Another variable is also asking the question, who might be available?
And there's one player who has suddenly emerged in the market who Liverpool might not have thought was a possibility.
But according to Ben Jacobs despite signing a new contract, an exit is 'possible' for Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa this summer and he's someone Liverpool have admired for a long time and could bring him in.
Rogers is the dream profile for Liverpool. Why? He's Premier League proven, versatile and he's homegrown.
Not to mention, his playing style would be very well suited to how Liverpool want to play.
Rogers is powerful in transition and comfortable carrying the ball over distances. He offers exactly what Liverpool are missing at the moment in their transitions.
Rogers’ ability to drive through midfield or isolate defenders one-vs-one makes him a natural fit for the way Slot wants to attack opponents.
We mentioned that versatility is a major factor. Rogers can operate as a left winger, right winger, attacking midfielder or even in a more central role behind the striker.
That tactical flexibility is crucial for a squad competing across multiple competitions. At Liverpool, Arne Slot's side are lacking in all areas of the pitch that Rogers plays in so this could be a bit of a two or even three-in-one signing.
There's the age factor as well. Rogers is 23-years-old, he is hitting the prime of his career and his profile fits perfectly with the current Liverpool squad Hughes is looking to build.
And with him being homegrown and Liverpool having few non-homegrown spots left in the current squad, bringing Rogers in makes even more sense.
He is the dream transfer and based on Jacob's report, this is a move that could now be on.
