A shock elsewhere before Leeds United’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham has shaken up the odds and opened a potential new opportunity for Daniel Farke’s side, yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports.
Manchester City opened the weekend by beating Liverpool 4-0 at the Etihad, Erling Haaland hitting a hat-trick. Chelsea then hammered League Two strugglers Port Vale 7-0 at Stamford Bridge to become the second heavyweight through.
Premier League leaders Arsenal were expected to progress at Championship hosts Southampton in the 8pm kick-off, but the in-form Saints stunned them 2-1 to dump the Gunners out.
Leeds visit West Ham in a 4.30pm Sunday kick-off at the London Stadium for the final semi-final place. If they get past the Irons, they would have a one in three chance of drawing Championship opposition for a place in the final. A Southampton semi-final would also offer a shot at revenge for last May’s Championship play-off final defeat.
The outright prices have shifted markedly. Manchester City are 3-4 favourites, in from 10-3, with Chelsea 3-1, in from 9-2. West Ham are 12-1, trimmed from 16-1, Leeds 14-1, in from 20-1 and as short as 11s with some firms, and Southampton 20-1, in from 66-1.
