Particularly explosive: according to the police, at least four people were injured during the scenes inside the stadium, including two women and two men. The situation arose when numerous fans from the south curve stormed up to the advertising boards to celebrate with the players

The incident is now attracting a great deal of attention – also with a view to possible sanctions, including speculation about restrictions for fans at the upcoming semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain

Freund is concerned

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund commented on the events before the Bundesliga match against Stuttgart – and found clear words. „We are very sorry that journalists have been injured. We are in contact with the journalists and the committees,“ explained the 47-year-old

At the same time, he put the situation into perspective: „It was a very emotional evening and an extraordinary match. But that shouldn’t happen.“ Freund also emphasized that the Allianz Arena actually stands for safety and a positive atmosphere: „Our stadium stands for everyone feeling comfortable.“

Hope for a lenient verdict

Despite the ongoing proceedings, the Bayern sports director is cautiously optimistic. „There’s not much to worry about,“ said Freund with regard to possible consequences. The exchange with UEFA is close and constructive, even throughout the season

His clear goal: a full stadium in the semi-final second leg against PSG. „We assume that we will be able to celebrate a soccer festival with a full stadium against Paris,“ said Freund

Despite the background noise, FC Bayern is still looking ahead, with the next important game coming up against Stuttgart before the clash with defending champions PSG in the Champions League.
