The father of former Juventus defender Dean Huijsen has criticised the way the Bianconeri forced his son out of the team, describing it as “a real shock” and “a dark day.”
Speaking to Tuttosport, Donald Caspar Huijsen described the moment his son was told he was no longer going to be part of the project at Juventus: “It was a real shock. A dark day. Dean was doing wonderfully in Turin, he spoke Italian perfectly and was loved by everyone.”
“Giuntoli was categorical and Motta brutal,” he added, “when they said he could no longer train with the first team.”

Huijsen’s exit has been a sore point of regret for many Juventus fans in the year since. The centre-back joined Bournemouth last summer and had an excellent campaign with the Cherries, earning a big move to Real Madrid this summer.
Huijsen Sr. also commented on the rumours that Juventus owned John Elkann dismissed Giuntoli because of the sale: “He and Motta aren’t exactly among my best friends…”
However, the Real Madrid starlet still has some connection to his old club, with his father revealing “Dean still reads Tuttosport on his phone and liked going to the restaurants of Marchisio and Bonucci in Turin.”

Finally, Huijsen’s father commented on the bond between his son and Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz: “They’re still very good friends and they bonded immediately in the Juventus youth team.”
The 20-year-old has played in all but one of Real Madrid’s matches so far this season and looks mature beyond his years in the heart of the La Liga giants’ defence.
