FC Porto open pre-season on Wednesday at Olival for 2026/27 as defending champions, with an England camp from 13 to 18 July and at least one friendly likely to be played behind closed doors.
According to O Jogo, 1 July marks the start, with day one set for physical tests and reconditioning, plus new faces João Afonso, André Silva and Eirik Granaas. The goalkeeper signed from Santa Clara, recently with the under-20s, is due to report on Wednesday.
International players who had recent national-team duty and did not go to the World Cup are due to return on Monday 6 July: Jan Bednarek, Jakub Kiwior, Oskar Pietuszewski, Zaidu, Victor Froholdt and Pablo Rosario, plus Dominik Prpic from Croatia under-21s.
Deniz Gul, who featured at the World Cup with Türkiye, will come back later, though he is expected to join the England camp. The return dates of Diogo Costa and Stephen Eustáquio depend on Portugal and Canada respectively.
Farioli has added Gabriel Brás from the B team to nine academy players called up for pre-season, namely Luís Gomes, Yoan Pereira, Tiago Silva, João Teixeira, Bernardo Lima, Mateus Mide, Duarte Cunha, Eduardo Ferreira and André Miranda. Miranda will begin with tailored work after a late-season muscle injury.
The camp at St. George Park is set to include a warm-up match, expected to be behind closed doors. Hibernian will hold a mini-camp in Portugal from 10 to 12 July and face Porto at Olival without fans before the squad heads to the UK.
