Fenerbahçe are lining up a return for Ferdi Kadıoğlu, contingent on eliminating Olympique Lyonnais in the Champions League play-off, according to Fotomaç.

The Türkiye international left-back joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2024 for €30 million and has emerged as a key target late in the window.

The plan is said to hinge on reaching the Champions League league stage by knocking out Lyon. The report says initial contact has been made with Kadıoğlu and with Brighton. Fenerbahçe would propose a loan with an option to buy, and, if it proceeds, intend to move on Archie Brown and pair Kadıoğlu with Levent Mercan at left-back.

Kadıoğlu remains highly regarded at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, where he made 204 appearances, scoring 18 goals and supplying 22 assists during a six-year spell after arriving from NEC Nijmegen in 2018.

He featured 42 times for Brighton last season and is under contract with the Seagulls until 2028. A reunion could follow if Fenerbahçe clear that European hurdle.
