Fermin Lopez’s rise this season has been nothing short of remarkable, and the numbers speak for themselves.
With 12 goals and 16 assists, the Barcelona midfielder has transformed from a promising talent into one of the most decisive players in European football.
In a candid appearance on El podcast de fin de mes, the Barcelona midfielder opened up about his career, ambitions, and values.
One of the most striking moments came when he was asked about the possibility of a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, specifically, whether a €50 million-per-year offer could tempt him away from Camp Nou.
“No. This depends on each individual, on each player’s situation, but for me, being at Barça is the ultimate goal. It’s my dream,” he said.
The midfielder also admitted that while ambition is natural, he remains content with his current situation.
“You always want more, obviously, but I’m fine.”
When reflecting on his journey, Fermin highlighted last season as a defining period in his career, largely due to the titles won and the celebrations that followed.
However, if there is one fixture that truly fuels him, it is El Clasico.
Speaking about Real Madrid, Fermin did not hold back, making it clear that it is that one team “I would never sign for.”

His passion was further evident when recalling a controversial moment from the recent Clasico clash at Spotify Camp Nou.
A goal he believed to be crucial was ruled out, leaving a lasting emotional impact.
“They took a goal away from me. The fifth one, no less. I celebrated as if I’d won the Champions League, and then they disallowed it. Come on, man. I almost cried.”
Furthermore, Fermin also shed light on life inside the Barcelona dressing room under Hansi Flick.
When asked about disciplinary measures, specifically fines for lateness, he revealed,
“I don’t know the exact amount, because it’s never happened to me.”
Expanding on that, he added, “I know there’s a financial penalty if you’re late for training.
“But it’s something that can’t happen to you. It happened to me once, but that was under Xavi. There was a fine, yes,” he recalled.
While he avoided comparisons between managers, Fermin made it clear that “you learn something from everyone.”
Lastly, he even hinted at a future desire to work under Andres Iniesta as he begins his managerial journey.
