Fernando Diniz said potential reinforcements will depend on budget and a transfer ban being resolved, after Corinthians drew 1-1 in a mid-season friendly at Cascavel.

According to Meu Timao, Diniz used the run-out to trial options in his side.

Corinthians returned after almost six weeks without a game, drawing 1-1 at Estádio Olímpico Regional, where Matheus Pereira scored.

The coach said he likes midfielder Arthur Melo and forward Wesley, but any approach must fit the club’s finances. He called Arthur well above the Brazilian standard, while cautioning that resources are tight.

On Wesley, Diniz noted the squad lack his profile and likened him to Kayke, currently sidelined with a knee injury. He added that budget constraints and the transfer ban would need to be overcome for any move to progress.

Corinthians are next in action on Thursday 23, when they host Remo at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
