Fiorentina confirm Tariq Lamptey exit after two games | OneFootball

Fiorentina have terminated Tariq Lamptey’s contract by mutual consent after only two appearances totalling 25 minutes this season. The club said in a statement that the Ghana international’s deal had ended.

Lamptey joined in a €6 million move from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2025.

He came on late in the opening 3-1 home defeat to Napoli, then ruptured a cruciate ligament 22 minutes into his first start the following week, an eventual 2-1 loss to Como.

Since then, 34 Serie A matches have passed without a return to full fitness. Rather than continue his rehabilitation in Florence, he has opted to leave. His contract had been due to run until the summer of 2029.

In a message to supporters, Lamptey expressed regret that he could not play regularly at Il Franchi or give the fans something to celebrate, while remaining grateful for the experience. He thanked the president, directors, coaches, coaching staff and those working behind the scenes.

He also thanked supporters for standing by him in difficult moments, said he would remember Fiorentina with respect and wished the club well.
