Fiorentina have reportedly reached an agreement to sign midfielder Michael Folorunsho on loan from Napoli with an option to buy according to reports on Tuesday evening.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Fiorentina will sign Folorunsho on loan for the remainder of the season and will have an option to make the move permanent for a fee of €8m.
Folorunsho has been on Napoli’s books since 2019, but has only made six appearances in Serie A for the Partenopei to date.
During that time, he has had relatively successful loan spells away with Bari, Reggina, Pordenone, Reggina and Bari again, and most recently with Hellas Verona in 2023-24.
He was a member of Italy’s EURO 2024 squad following his successful time with Verona.
There were reports that Folorunsho was due to leave the club in the summer, but an agreement for his permanent exit never arrived.
All six of his Serie A appearances for Napoli have come this season under Antonio Conte, but they have only totalled 31 minutes of action.
