The first of FC Bayern’s World Cup participants began their pre-season preparations on Monday with performance diagnsostics tests. Among those who completed the first part of the assessments were the Germany internationals including Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and new signing Nathaniel Brown, as well as Alphonso Davies, Minjae Kim and Hiroki Ito; they will join the squad training sessions later this week. “The squad is now gradually coming together. As is so often the case, it’s a bit of a challenge, but we’ll manage it well and be fully ready for the start of the season,” said sporting director Christoph Freund during Saturday’s friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

The players who returned to training last week set off for Tegernsee on Monday afternoon. Bayern are holding a short training camp there until Thursday, which will include a friendly against local side FC Rottach-Egern (Thursday, 18.00 CEST). The match will be streamed live and free of charge on fcbayern.com and via the official FC Bayern app

Following the training camp at Tegernsee, FC Bayern will be heading out on the tenth edition of the Audi Summer Tour from 1 to 8 August. This summer, the record champions will visit the South Korean island of Jeju and Hong Kong. Their first competitive match will take place on Saturday 22 August, when they face Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
