Five free agents Walsall could consider this summer | OneFootball

Walsall’s rebuild remains substantial, with Lee Grant saying the club still have “a fair way to go” in the market. According to ExpressAndStar.com, here are five free agents they could consider.

Goalkeeper Myles Roberts impressed on loan last season, making 43 appearances and keeping 13 clean sheets in 46 games. Released by Watford after returning from Bescot, he is available on a free. Jenson Kilroy is the only senior keeper after Sam Hornby joined Hednesford Town.

Tom Bradshaw, a former favourite, hit 40 goals in two seasons between 2014 and 2016. He later played for Millwall and Barnsley, and spent the second half of last season back at Barnsley on loan from Oxford United, scoring three. A reunion would be a gamble, though some would hope he could rediscover form at Bescot.

Evan Khouri was linked earlier this month, but there has been no movement. The 23-year-old rejected a new contract at Grimsby Town after four goals and two assists in 42 games last term. With Lewis Simper, Sven Sprangler and loanee Isaac Moore in, midfield may not be a priority.

Will Wright, 29, departed Swindon this summer. He won promotion with Crawley via the 2024 play-offs and was Swindon’s 2024-25 player of the season, contributing 10 goals and eight assists in 95 games.

Tranmere’s Omari Patrick could address the wide areas. The 30-year-old has 21 goals in 92 games across the past two seasons, and he has scored in three of nine meetings with the Saddlers.
