Leeds United have made their first signing of the summer, confirming Wales winger Harry Wilson on a free after his Fulham contract expired, a move that reshapes the club’s strongest XI and bench.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, his arrival follows departures for Pascal Struijk, sold to Brighton for £20m, goalkeeper Illan Meslier and last season’s Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte. Meslier is set to join Arsenal as a back-up keeper.

Leeds tried to land Wilson on deadline day last summer before Fulham pulled the plug. He went on to record 10 goals and 7 assists in a standout campaign for his side.

Goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Alex Cairns, and right back Sam Byram, are now technically free agents after their deals expired, with talks ongoing per the club’s retained list. Their futures remain unclear.

A projected strongest XI features Lucas Perri in goal while Darlow is technically a free agent. Jayden Bogle is first-choice right back, with James Justin a versatile alternative, and a back three of Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Justin following Struijk’s exit. Gabi Gudmundsson is the clear pick at left back and is among four Leeds players to have featured at the World Cup.

The reshuffle also includes a big call, with one attacker moved to the bench.
