Flamengo have nine players at the 2026 World Cup, including Carrascal, and hope the tournament can lift the midfielder’s market value ahead of the next transfer window.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the club are open to selling Jorge Carrascal and view the World Cup as a chance to increase interest. His Flamengo form has yet to convince and he is in a dip after a run of dismissals.
Carrascal started Colombia’s 3-1 friendly win over Costa Rica on Monday, playing 45 minutes and contributing to one of the goals at Estádio El Campín in Bogotá.
Colombia led in the 17th minute when Luis Díaz took a corner and Davinson Sanchez headed in. In the 23rd minute, pressure forced a poor clearance that struck Carrascal, and Díaz finished the loose ball to make it 2-0.
Before the World Cup, Krasnodar (RUS) and Shakhtar Donetsk (UCR) made enquiries to his camp, which remains in contact with the Eastern European clubs.
Carrascal and Colombia begin their World Cup on 17 June against Uzbekistan at 23h Brasília time at Estádio da Cidade do México. They are in Group K with Portugal and Congo.
