Flamengo are preparing for their midweek match, with Arrascaeta being lined up for his first appearance of 2026 pending a final decision.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Uruguay international has completed a tailored pre-season plan and is now training normally on the pitch and in the gym.

He took part in morning activations at Ninho do Urubu. Tuesday’s session, on 27, will be decisive for coach Filipe Luís when naming his squad for the Brasileirão opener.

Filipe Luís could therefore have the playmaker available if those final checks are met.

Arrascaeta was Flamengo’s standout last season, adding creative influence and finishing as the club’s top scorer with 25 goals.

Kick-off against São Paulo is 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 28 at Morumbis, marking Flamengo’s start to the 2026 Brasileirão.
