Flamengo have reached the Campeonato Carioca quarter-finals after a 7-1 win over Sampaio Corrêa, setting up a tie with Botafogo.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the competition format pairs fourth in Group B with the group leaders, confirming the meeting in the next phase.

Flamengo finished fourth in Group B with seven points. Botafogo, on 10 points, have sealed first place and still face Vasco on Sunday 08 in the last round.

The quarter-finals will be single-leg with no advantage. If the match ends level, penalties will decide. FERJ have not yet released the fixture dates.

Flamengo now turn to Vitória on Tuesday 10 in the third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, kicking off at 21:30 Brasília time at Barradão.
