According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo are monitoring West Ham striker Taty Castellanos. The Premier League club are close to relegation to the second tier of English football and will need to move on higher-cost contracts, including his.
The report adds that, if relegated, talks for the Argentine could be eased because his market valuation is expected to fall.
Castellanos was left out of Argentina’s provisional World Cup list. That decision could make him available earlier for negotiations.
West Ham announced his signing in January this year, paying €29 million, R$184.2 million at the exchange rate at the time. The forward agreed a deal through June 2030.
Castellanos has long been on Flamengo’s radar, and with circumstances potentially turning favourable the club will attempt to land him again. At present, Pedro and Wallace Yan are the only centre-forwards in the squad.
