Sunderland have been linked with a move for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels, while loanee Alan Browne could leave permanently.
According to Sky Sports, the Black Cats are among clubs monitoring the Belgian in Glasgow, with Nottingham Forest and Fulham also interested.
TuttoMercatoWeb claims Napoli have entered the race as they might lose André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and have identified Engels as a possible replacement.
The report adds Sunderland and Forest have already 'submitted enquiries' about his availability, and that offers above £21.6 million could convince Celtic to sell.
Separately, The Northern Echo reports Middlesbrough are weighing a permanent move for Browne after 42 appearances last season, when Boro lost the Championship play-off final to Hull City.
Head coach Kim Hellberg aims to go one step further next term, and Boro are expected to sign at least two midfielders, with Browne still on their radar.
