Fluminense players give Rodrigo Castillo playful initiation after Recopa strikes against Flamengo | OneFootball

Fluminense’s latest 2026 signing Rodrigo Castillo was given a playful initiation by team-mates on his first day at the club.

He had been central to the Recopa Sudamericana final against Flamengo, scoring the only goal of the first leg for Lanús and opening the scoring in the return at the Maracanã. According to Coluna Do Fla, Fluminense posted a video on Wednesday showing the forward taking a light-hearted football ‘baptism’ as colleagues delivered gentle slaps and kicks to mark his arrival.

Although he has been passed fit, Castillo will not make his Fluminense debut in the final against Flamengo because he is not yet registered.

His first appearance for the Laranjeiras club is expected to be against Remo on Thursday 12 March at the Mangueirão.

Flamengo face Fluminense at 18:00 Brasília time on Sunday at the Maracanã. The match will be shown on Rede Globo, SporTV, Premiere and GETV on YouTube.
