Erling Haaland – Manchester City

A ruthless performance from Haaland helped Manchester City into the semi-finals with ease. The Norwegian hit a hat-trick as City thrashed Liverpool 4-0 in a statement performance at the Etihad.

He confidently converted from the penalty spot for the opener, sending Giorgi Mamardashvili the wrong way. It was a fine moment for Haaland, who had seen the Georgian save a spot-kick in a Premier League meeting earlier this season.

Haaland’s second was a thing of beauty. A fine, flowing move from the Citizens ended with Haaland heading past Mamardashvili with perfect precision.

He completed his 12th hat-trick for City with an emphatic finish, with no player across Europe’s top leagues having scored more trebles than Haaland since his debut for the Blues.

Estevao Willian – Chelsea

Liam Rosenior said the potential of Estevao Willian is limitless after the teenager’s sparkling performance against Port Vale. Tougher tests await than the League One strugglers, but Estevao was the spark in Chelsea’s 7-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

He scored one, assisted another, and created four chances in an impressive performance. His return is a welcome boost after a recent hamstring issue.

Shea Charles – Southampton

Shea Charles was the hero as Southampton stunned Arsenal to reach the semi-finals. The in-form Saints made it 15 games unbeaten after upsetting the odds to eliminate the Premier League leaders.

Charles came off the bench to have the decisive moment late on, placing a precise finish past Kepa Arrizabalaga to send St Mary’s wild. Southampton are into the semi-finals for the third time in nine years, and dreaming of a first FA Cup success since 1976. That season, the Saints won the FA Cup as a second-tier team. Could history repeat itself?

Lucas Perri – Leeds United

It’s not been the easiest of seasons for Lucas Perri. Signed last summer as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, the Brazilian has fallen out of favour under Daniel Farke. At West Ham this weekend, the best and worst of Perri was on show.

In a chaotic game, he was fortunate that Taty Castellanos was adjudged offside after misjudging a long ball forward in extra time, at a moment when the game was in the balance.

Perri, however, redeemed himself in the resulting shootout. After Leeds had missed the first spot-kick, Perri made saves from Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Felipe to send The Whites to Wembley for a first FA Cup semi-final in 39 years.
