Frankfurt's Knauff out indefinitely after abdominal surgery | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt have suffered another setback, with Knauff having undergone abdominal surgery.

The club said in a statement that the 24-year-old had the procedure on Monday 16 February and is out until further notice, adding their wishes for a speedy recovery.

It is another blow for Albert Riera, who may also be without Rasmus Kristensen after a potentially season-ending ligament injury.

There are further concerns over Arnaud Kalimuendo after he took a knock in the 3-0 win against Mönchengladbach.

Knauff has made 20 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring 4 goals.

Frankfurt visit Bayern Munich at 15:30 CET on Saturday, and could be missing key options in defence and attack.
