The transfer window is in its final hours, yet free agents remain beyond the deadline. According to Superdeporte, as of 31 August 2026 several experienced centre-forwards are unattached.
The standout name is Mauro Icardi. At 33, the Argentine left Galatasaray after rediscovering his scoring touch following spells with Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, finishing four seasons in Türkiye with 77 goals. Besiktas have contacted him about staying in Türkiye.
Anthony Martial, 30, is available after Monterrey. The former Manchester United forward also played for Monaco, Sevilla and AEK Athens and is weighing his next move.
Myron Boadu, 25, is without a club after PSV Eindhoven chose not to extend his deal. Injuries have checked his rise, though he remains a quick, mobile striker. He once carried a market value of 20 million at 18 and scored on his senior international debut, and Watford have an advanced agreement, although anything could change.
Among Spanish options, Joselu Mato, 36, is free after Al-Gharafa. The former Real Madrid forward has been training at Las Rozas with Dani Carvajal while assessing offers. His CV still resonates, notably his decisive 2023/24 for Madrid on their route to the Champions League, before moving to Qatar.
Danny Ings, 34, is available after Sheffield United, having also represented Liverpool, Southampton, Aston Villa and West Ham. Luciano Vietto, 32, Dani Gómez, 28, Alberto Marí and Choco Lozano, 33, are likewise seeking clubs, with Lozano leaving Santos Laguna.
