Froholdt works on recovery at Olival during day off | OneFootball

According to O Jogo, Victor Froholdt reported to the CTFD Jorge Costa to treat a right-foot problem as he tries to be ready for Monday’s game against Gil Vicente.

Late on Thursday at Viktoria Plzen, he was trodden on by defender Merchas Doski as he attempted a shot. He showed visible pain and a limp, and was diagnosed with a right-foot contusion.

The squad were given the day off after a lengthy journey home from Plzen. Froholdt was the exception, continuing rehabilitation work at Olival.

The midfielder, a key starter under Italian coach Farioli, is in a race against time to manage pain and limited movement to face the fourth-placed side, if selected.

Farioli may also choose to protect him, with a Europa League decider against Rangers on Thursday. An update could come in Sunday’s press conference, set for 15:45.
