Manchester City are back in the race to sign Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso amid competition from Liverpool and Tottenham, as per reports from Italy.

City first attempted to land the 26-year-old in January 2025 but were unable to get a deal over the line. Cambiaso’s agent subsequently confirmed that Pep Guardiola wanted to bring him to the Etihad Stadium – and the Blues have maintained their interest heading into the summer window.

As reported by Tutto Juve and relayed by Sport Witness, Liverpool, Tottenham, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Barcelona have also shown considerable interest in Cambiaso, who has been a regular starter for Juventus this season and is valued between €40-50 million in Turin.

The report mentions that figure could fall to around €30-35 million should Juventus fail to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2026-27 campaign.

Report: Multiple clubs make contact for Cambiaso

The report cites information from journalist Mirko Di Natale that Manchester City and five other clubs have made direct contact to ask about Cambiaso’s availability, with the left-back attracting significant attention ahead of the summer transfer window.

Inter had attempted to sign him in January before being turned down and could return with an offer involving Carlos Augusto as part of a swap arrangement.

City, Liverpool and Tottenham represent the Premier League contingent in the chase, with the defender’s versatility and technical quality making him one of the more coveted full-backs in European football over the years.

Cambiaso fits a profile City’s director of football Hugo Viana has consistently targeted, a technically accomplished, positionally versatile defender in his mid-twenties with significant room to develop further.

With Josko Gvardiol‘s contract situation still to be fully resolved and cover on the left side of the defence a priority this summer, Cambiaso’s availability is timely.

City face stiff competition, however. Liverpool’s need for a left-back following Andrew Robertson‘s impending departure gives them a particular urgency in the race – and the breadth of interest from clubs of Barcelona and Inter’s calibre means Viana will need to move decisively if City are to emerge as the frontrunners.
