One player could apparently leave FC Bayern again this summer, with Borussia Dortmund once again being linked with him
FC Bayern’s planning for the coming season is in full swing and, in addition to potential new signings, the club’s management are currently also looking closely at potential departures
As transfer insider Ekrem Konur reports, the Munich club would be prepared in principle to let the Japanese player leave if a suitable offer came along
The player himself is also said to be open to a move
The 27-year-old moved to FC Bayern from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2024 for around €23.5 million, but has yet to make his big breakthrough at Säbener Straße
Several injuries in particular have repeatedly set Ito back over the past two years, and the defensive player currently has only limited prospects of becoming a regular
In the internal hierarchy, Ito is currently behind Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Minjae Kim
What’s more, the Japanese player has only made eleven appearances in the starting eleven so far this season, and according to the report, this lack of playing time is one of the main reasons why he is considering a move
Particularly interesting: In addition to several English clubs, Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keeping a close eye on the situation
According to the report, Brighton, Leeds United and West Ham United are among those interested in Ito, but BVB are also said to have the Bayern professional on their radar as a potential defensive reinforcement. There had previously been reports of Dortmund’s interest in Ito
However, according to Konur, no concrete offers have yet been made
Nevertheless, it seems clear that Munich are not willing to sell the Japanese player for less than he is worth. According to the report, FC Bayern would „very likely“ accept an offer in the region of 25 million euros. This would practically recoup the money they spent on the transfer at the time

Ito’s contract with the record champions runs until 2028
Before possible transfer talks, however, the focus for the defender and Bayern is now on the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart, where the Munich side will be looking to secure their first cup win in six years on Saturday evening.
