Fulham travel to the Stadium of Light on Sunday, aiming to complete a first league double over Sunderland in over 20 years.
The Cottagers are entering a difficult period, having suffered three consecutive Premier League defeats and dropped to 12th in the table. Manager Marco Silva oversaw a confidence-boosting 2–1 FA Cup win over Stoke City last weekend, but his side has now lost four of their last five in the league. Notably, Fulham are unbeaten in their last four encounters with the Black Cats and won the reverse fixture 1–0 in November.
Marco Silva manages a squad missing its most efficient attacking outlet due to a fresh injury blow. Notably, Samuel Chukwueze is sidelined with a calf injury sustained against Manchester City. Consequently, the Nigerian—who averages a goal or assist every 91 minutes—will be a massive miss on Wearside. Saša Lukić and Tom Cairney have returned to training, but Lukić is considered a likely absentee for Sunday.
Bernd Leno will start in goal behind a defensive line featuring Joachim Andersen and Calvin Bassey. In attack, Raúl Jiménez—who scored the winner in the reverse fixture—is poised to lead the line. He will be supported by Harry Wilson, whose eight goals this season include five match-winning strikes. Notably, Fulham could lose four consecutive league games while conceding 2+ goals for the first time since 2019 if they fail to tighten up defensively on Sunday.
Fulham predicted XI: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Iwobi, Berge; Wilson, Smith Rowe, Kevin; Jimenez
The Premier League fixture takes place at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, 22 February 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00 GMT.
