Sunderland’s squad value has climbed following the arrivals of Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki and Robin Roefs. Figures are based on Transfermarkt valuations. Here is how they compare with Premier League rivals before a major summer window.
After finishing seventh in their first season back in the Premier League, the Black Cats qualified for next season’s Europa League. It will be only their second European campaign and their first since 1973. They will play at least eight games in the league phase from September, alongside Juventus and AC Milan.
The workload across four competitions will stretch Regis Le Bris’s squad, so the club will aim to strengthen, and some departures could follow. Even so, it seems unlikely activity will match last summer’s overhaul that underpinned a memorable campaign.
Manchester City lead the Premier League on €1.32bn, ahead of Arsenal on €1.23bn, Chelsea on €1.16bn and Liverpool on €1.02bn. Sunderland stand at €381.95m, 16th, ahead of West Ham United on €362.95m and Leeds United on €346.03m, with Wolverhampton Wanderers on €294.05m and Burnley on €239.25m further back.
Their highest valued players are led by Habib Diarra at €32.00m and Noah Sadiki at €30.00m. Brian Brobbey, Enzo Le Fee, Robin Roefs, Chemsdine Talbi and Chris Rigg are each at €25.00m, with Trai Hume on €22.00m and Lutsharel Geertruida and Dan Ballard both at €20.00m.
