FC Barcelona have completed an important piece of business in the summer transfer window, reaching a full agreement with Club Brugge to sign highly-rated winger Jesse Bisiwu. 

The Jesse Bisiwu Barcelona transfer is expected to be made official in the coming days once the final paperwork is completed, making the Belgian teenager Barcelona’s latest signing ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The move is another example of the club’s long-term recruitment strategy under sporting director Deco, with Barcelona continuing to invest in young players capable of developing into first-team regulars. 

Financial details of Bisiwu to Barcelona

As per Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona transfer has been agreed for €8.5 million, while Club Brugge will retain 20% of any future transfer fee if the winger is sold later in his career. 

Jesse Bisiwu will put pen to paper on a five-year contract, completing one of the club’s most notable youth acquisitions of the summer.

Earlier reports in Belgium claimed the Barcelona transfer fee could rise to around €10 million, while Club Brugge initially wanted a significantly higher sell-on percentage between 30% and 40%. 

However, Barcelona successfully negotiated both figures down before reaching a final agreement.

The Jesse Bisiwu to Barcelona operation has been months in the making. The Catalan club submitted an opening proposal during the January transfer window, but Club Brugge rejected the offer, deeming it below their valuation.

Rather than walking away, Barcelona maintained their interest throughout the year.

Deco and head of scouting Joao Amaral even travelled to Belgium to oversee negotiations personally, which yielded a positive result.

Flick to decide whether Bisiwu joins first team

Once the transfer is officially announced, the Barcelona new signing will travel directly to England to link up with Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad at the club’s pre-season camp at St George’s Park, which runs from 27 July to 3 August.

The training camp will play a major role in deciding Bisiwu’s immediate future. 

Flick and his coaching staff will evaluate the teenager before deciding whether the Barcelona winger should remain with the senior squad or continue his development with Barça Atlètic.
