Gabigol has PRP pubis treatment, Santos not concerned | OneFootball

Gabigol underwent a PRP procedure on his pubis over the weekend, a regenerative therapy using his own blood to aid recovery, and Santos are not concerned.

According to Globo.com, the club expect him to report back on Tuesday, one day earlier than most of the squad.

He and other players who did not feature in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Cruzeiro, in the eighth round of the Brasileirão, will work at CT Rei Pelé.

During the treatment, the number nine had blood drawn, centrifuged and applied to the affected area, an issue that has troubled him since his time at Cruzeiro. He travelled to Belo Horizonte for the procedure, and his economic rights remain tied to the Minas club, which has loaned him to Santos until the end of 2026.

The March FIFA window gives him a rare break, the last before the Brazilian calendar pauses for the World Cup, which helped prompt his decision to undergo the therapy.

He should be available for Santos’ next match, on the second of April against Remo at Vila Belmiro, in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
