Arsenal entertained Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a good result at home in their EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash. The Gunners made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Mikel Arteta’s men finally managed to score the winning goal in injury time thanks to Kai Havertz’s effort. The match ended with Arsenal earning a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home fans.
The Gunners ended up winning the tie by a 4-2 aggregate scoreline.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the clash against the Blues.
GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 7/10
He made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet tonight.
RB: Jurrien Timber – 6.5/10
Timber performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.
CB: William Saliba – 6.5/10
He got stuck in with a couple of solid tackles and dealt with the danger when he could.
CB: Gabriel – 7.5/10
Gabriel put his foot through the ball when needed and was a strong presence in the air.

LB: Piero Hincapie – 7.5/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Eberechi Eze – 6.5/10
Eze made one good chance in the final third but was quiet for most of his time on the field.
CM: Martin Zubimendi – 7/10
Zubimendi anchored the midfield well and was good on the ball.
CM: Declan Rice – 7/10
He anchored the midfield with conviction and managed to secure an assist.
RW: Noni Madueke – 6/10
Madueke struggled to threaten the opponent’s goal and was replaced in the 68th minute.
ST: Viktor Gyokeres – 6/10
He failed to cause problems for the Chelsea defenders and was substituted in the 68th minute.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5/10
Martinelli came back to defend when he could, but offered very little in the final third.
LW: Leandro Trossard – 6/10
His impact on the game was minimal.
