Santos returned to work at CT Rei Pelé on Sunday after the 3-2 defeat by Grêmio, with attention now on Deportivo Cuenca on Tuesday. The session brought progress for Gabriel Menino while Benjamín Rollheiser stayed a doubt.
According to Diario Do Peixe, Menino has begun on-pitch transition work with club physiotherapists. He has been sidelined since facing Coritiba in the Copa do Brasil with a right hamstring injury.
Despite that step, his involvement on Tuesday is being handled cautiously, with the club wary after a run of fitness issues in recent weeks.
Rollheiser remained in the gym treating a muscle problem and is still uncertain for the decisive game. The number 32 missed the Grêmio match and has yet to resume outdoor training.
Neymar also trained indoors as he continues to recover from oedema in his right calf, and did not join the work on the pitch.
Starters from the Grêmio game did only indoor recovery, while the rest trained on the grass under Cuca and his staff.
Preparations finish on Monday before the final group game, which kicks off at 21:30, Brasília time, at Vila Belmiro. Santos must win to seal second place in Group D and reach the Sul-Americana play-offs. Lucas Veríssimo is suspended after his third booking, while Álvaro Barreal returns from a league ban.
