Igor Vinícius trains with Santos squad as Bontempo steps up recovery | OneFootball

Igor Vinícius trained with the Santos squad on Friday and is expected to be available to coach Cuca for the Botafogo match.

According to Globo.com, the sides meet on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time at Nilton Santos in round 19 of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

While building fitness, Igor Vinícius missed the friendly against União São João and the training match with Osasco Sporting.

Midfielder Gabriel Bontempo is progressing from discomfort in the pubic area. On Friday he went out on the pitch to run in trainers and completed exercises with the club’s physiotherapy staff.

He worked alongside forward Moisés, who twisted his right ankle in the União São João friendly and has been kept out of training. Despite swelling, the issue is not regarded as a concern and there is an expectation he will also be available for Botafogo.

Players who logged heavier minutes in Thursday’s game with Osasco Sporting did a light physical session on the CT Rei Pelé pitch. The rest took part in technical and tactical work.

A likely Santos XI is Gabriel Brazão in goal, Gabriel Menino or Igor Vinícius, Lucas Veríssimo, Luan Peres and Escobar in defence, Willian Arão or João Schmidt with Gustavo Henrique and Rollheiser in midfield, and Moisés, Rony or Thaciano and Barreal in attack.
