Galatasaray interested in Juventus defender Bremer | OneFootball

Gleison Bremer has emerged as a Galatasaray target, with the Turkish champions making an exploratory approach for one of the leading candidates to leave Juventus this summer.

According to Sky Sport, via CalcioMercato, there has been no official contact between the two clubs as yet, but the Istanbul side have made clear to the Brazilian’s entourage that the salary on offer would be extremely high.

Juventus’ asking price is steep in turn, though not unreachable by Super Lig standards, where Galatasaray have repeatedly shown their financial muscle.

Bremer among the candidates to leave Juventus

The defender’s place among the potential departures owes to a combination of factors: his own ambitions, having publicly chided the club for treading water in recent years, and Juventus’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, a shortfall that, as former director Damien Comolli acknowledged before his exit, obliges the club to make at least one significant sale.

It is a squeeze only sharpened by the UEFA settlement agreement now governing the Bianconeri’s spending.

Galatasaray’s timing may hinge on their own defence.

Their current centre-back pairing is Abdülkerim Bardakci and Davinson Sanchez, and the Colombian has attracted interest from Como in recent days, though the Italians have since raised their offer for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah instead.

Should Sanchez move on, the pursuit of Bremer could take on a far more serious shape.
