Galatasaray take a 1-0 first-leg lead into their Champions League last 16 trip to Anfield, with a quarter-final place on the line. According to Turkish-Football.com, progress would also trigger a major financial uplift.
Okan Buruk’s side defend their advantage on 18 March. If they eliminate Liverpool they would receive an extra €12.5 million in UEFA prize money for reaching the last eight.
The Turkish champions have already guaranteed about €53.5 million from the 2025/26 campaign. This includes a €18.62 million starting fee for the new league phase and €7 million in performance bonuses from three wins and one draw.
They also banked €1 million for the knockout play-off round after beating Juventus, plus €11 million for making the last 16.
A further roughly €15.9 million comes from the league-phase ranking bonus, the value pillar and historical coefficient shares, allocated at €5.08 million, €8.41 million and €2.42 million respectively.
Advancing next Wednesday would lift season earnings to €66 million, a boost seen as potentially transformative for squad planning. It could help convert Victor Osimhen’s loan into a permanent deal or fund reinforcements for 2026/27. The return at Anfield is poised to be among the most high-stakes nights in recent Turkish football, with tens of millions of euros and a place in Europe’s elite eight at stake.
