Football pundit Gary Neville has begrudgingly admitted that Chelsea have started to move forward after beating West Ham.
The former Manchester United and England defender has been reviewing the games from the weekend on his own Podcast and has some compliments to dish out to Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea after they beat West Ham 5-1 away from home.
We know that Neville has not been very complimentary of Chelsea since the new owners came in and in fact, has mostly had criticism to dish out to them. But I guess it is becoming quite impossible to continue down that road after Chelsea had a very strong end to the season by qualifying for the Champions League, winning the Conference League, and then winning the Club World Cup over the summer.
The Blues stuttered on the opening day by only managing a 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace, but it was back to business on Friday night after they turned over a West Ham side managed by their former manager Graham Potter.

The former player turned pundit said:
“It’s a good away win for Chelsea. It will just get them going. Is it realistic that they can win the Premier League title? I don’t think so.
“But I think if you’re getting into the Champions League places and in around there a couple of seasons on the bounce, then you know, you certainly started to move forward. And there’s a long way to go, but it was a game that you would expect them to win as well. Like West Ham are really struggling.”
You can just tell that it hurt him to say all that, but he’s still writing Chelsea off for a title challenge.
