Girona FC kicks off the 2026-2027 preseason tomorrow. | OneFootball

The Girona FC will start the 2026-2027 preseason tomorrow, Wednesday, with the first medical tests for the players in the squad.

The first training session on the pitch will take place this Thursday at the facilities of the Girona Football Academy by Puma, where the new coach, Quique Álvarez, will lead his first training session.

For this start of the preseason, the following players have been called up: Gazzaniga, Antal, Vlad, Arnau, Francés, Àlex Moreno, Fran Beltrán, Izan, Misehouy, Iván Martín, Van de Beek, Bryan Gil, Jastin, Joel Roca, Asprilla, Abel, Artero, Portu, Minsu, Dawda, Pyshchur and Vanat. Joining them later will be Azzedine Ounahi, who is still competing in the World Cup, and Viktor Tsygankov, who extended his activity after the season by playing international matches with the Ukrainian national team.

For the first day of training, several reserve team players will also join to work under the orders of the first team's coaching staff. These include Lass, Gibi, Salguero, Sarasa, Andreev, Papa, and Junior.

Jastin, Portu, Asprilla, Vanat, and Francés will continue their recovery process from injuries and will gradually join the group.

In Vall d’en Bas from July 20 to 25

The preseason planning also includes a training camp at the Royalverd Training Center fields in Vall d'en Bas from July 20 to 25. At this training center in Garrotxa, Girona will continue intensifying their preparation in an environment familiar to the Club and ideal for strengthening both physical and tactical aspects.

A fundamental part of the preseason is the preparation matches. As of today, the following matches have been scheduled: Olot vs. Girona (Wednesday, July 22. Municipal d’Olot. 8:00 PM); Girona vs. Alavés (Saturday, July 25. Royal Verd Training Center. 10:30 AM); Girona vs. Castelló (Wednesday, July 29. Girona Football Academy by Puma. 6:30 PM); Girona vs. Arsenal (49th Costa Brava Trophy. Saturday, August 1. Montilivi, 8:00 PM); and Nàstic de Tarragona vs. Girona (Saturday, August 8. Estadi Costa Daurada. 8:30 PM).
