Gladbach sign Leverkusen prospect Alejo Sarco on loan | OneFootball

Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed 20-year-old Argentine striker Alejo Sarco on loan from Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season. The clubs said in statements that the deal includes no purchase option.

Sarco, an Argentina youth international, joined Leverkusen from Vélez Sarsfield last year and has had limited Bundesliga minutes, making only a handful of appearances.

Gladbach view the move as an opportunity for Sarco to gain more regular first-team action in Germany’s top flight.

Sporting director Rouven Schröder described Sarco as a talented, powerful and quick forward, left-footed with an eye for goal.

Leverkusen’s Simon Rolfes said the switch is aimed at aiding the striker’s development by giving him more minutes on the pitch.
