Leeds United are expected to sign free agent Harry Wilson, although an announcement may not arrive until next week.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the move is agreed and the delay is logistical rather than a late rethink, with no panic at Elland Road.

Leeds and Wilson agreed terms last week, 10 months after a failed deadline-day bid to prise the Wales international from Fulham. He has since run down his Craven Cottage deal and left as a free agent. Rival interest rose after a best-ever season of 10 goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League games, yet he chose the club willing to pay a fee last year.

Silence since the story first emerged stirred memories of Daniel James’ aborted 2019 move, and Fulham’s late Wilson U-turn last summer. The report stresses there is nothing sinister behind the delay.

Once confirmed, Wilson can link up with his Wales teammates for pre-season later this month. Leeds travel to the USA to face Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool, then host RB Leipzig on August 8 and FB Augsburg on August 15, either side of a Dublin meeting with Manchester United.
