Ryan Gravenberch’s agent Jose Fortes has said the Liverpool midfielder would ‘love’ to play for Real Madrid later in his career.
Gravenberch has been an integral part of Liverpool’s successful league season, with the Reds 11 points clear in the table and closing in on the Premier League title.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a key figure under new head coach Arne Slot, having struggled for status during an underwhelming debut campaign at Anfield. This season, he’s started all 31 league games for the Reds after being reinvented in a deep-lying role.
His development has led to tentative transfer speculation, with Real Madrid among the clubs reportedly impressed by his performances this season.
The player’s agent has now put further fuel on the fire of the rumours, by revealing he is aware of Real Madrid interest and insisting that Gravenberch would be interested in playing for the Spanish side. However, he admitted a deal now is ‘impossible’ due to Gravenberch’s importance to Liverpool.
“When Ryan was 16, Barça called us. They wanted to sign him, but his father and I prioritised his development. He’s good enough for Real Madrid. We would love for him to play for them, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money.” Fortes said to Marca.
“I know they’ve had their eye on him, but now it’s impossible.”
