Castro’s backroom team numbers six. Assistants Vítor Severino and Pedro Mané are joined by goalkeeping coach Daniel Correia and performance analyst Nuno Baptista. Fitness coaches Nuno Cerdeira and Roberto Júnior (Betinho) complete the group, and apart from Betinho, formerly of Flamengo and Brazilian, all are Portuguese.

João Brandão, an assistant at Botafogo, is not part of the staff. Pedro Mané did not work at Fogão and linked up with Castro at Al-Nassr, his penultimate job before Al Wasl. Nuno Cerdeira joined Castro’s staff in 2023, also at the Saudi club.

Castro’s recent roles were at Al-Nassr then Al Wasl.
