Luís Castro faces another absentee at Grêmio after midfielder Dodi sustained a right knee injury. The club said in a statement that imaging showed a small patellar avulsion and no timeframe was given for his return. He will miss Sunday’s meeting with Bragantino.

Images from Wednesday’s session showed Dodi working with the ball at CT Luiz Carvalho while wearing protection on his right knee, where the issue was detected.

Gustavo Martins and Nardoni are also unavailable for Bragantino, both currently in the medical department. Though largely a reserve this season, Dodi started the last match against Atlético-MG and could have kept his place with Nardoni out.

Centre-back Kannemann is absent from the next fixture due to suspension.

Grêmio will present new signing Danilo Barbosa on Thursday. He is not yet registered in the CBF’s BID and has not played since May at Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia.

Dodi has begun physiotherapy and will be assessed regularly.
