Grêmio sign Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinović on deal to 2028 | OneFootball

Grêmio announced on Monday morning the signing of Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinović, 30, on a deal running until the end of 2028.

A right-footed attacking midfielder, Krovinović fills a role the club had been seeking since the start of the year.

He arrives from Hajduk Split, runners-up in Croatia last season. He previously worked under coach Luís Castro at Rio Ave in Portugal between 2016 and 2017.

Krovinović began his senior career at NK Zagreb, moving to Rio Ave in 2015. Benfica signed him in 2017 but opportunities were limited.

Loaned to West Bromwich in 2019, he featured in the 2019/2020 promotion campaign to the Premier League.

In early 2021 he joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Benfica. That July he left Benfica permanently for Hajduk Split, where he won the Croatian Cup in 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.

He has represented Croatia at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
