Gui Negão recalls first Corinthians senior call-up, two years on | OneFootball

Gui Negão has marked two years since his first senior Corinthians call-up, the 16 June 2024 derby with São Paulo at Neo Química Arena. It was his first inclusion in a professional squad.

According to Meu Timao, he highlighted the milestone in a social media post on Tuesday, calling it a date that will stay with him. The derby finished 2-2 and he remained an unused substitute.

His official debut arrived a year later, in June 2025, in a 0-0 draw with Vitória at the same venue. He replaced Memphis Depay at 35 minutes of the second half and had limited involvement.

Since then he has played 36 times for Corinthians, including 21 starts, scoring six and supplying two assists. He also contributed to the 2025 Copa do Brasil title run, though he has recently had fewer minutes under Fernando Diniz.

His most recent outing came in the 1-1 draw with Flamengo on 22 March in the league. He was then sidelined by injury, returned to availability in May under Diniz, but has not featured since, spending six matches on the bench and missing out on three squads.

A youth graduate, he joined in 2016 for futsal, winning metropolitan and state honours at under-nine, under-11 and under-12 before switching to football the next year. Promoted to the under-20s by Danilo in 2024 at 17, he totalled 99 games and 24 goals across the under-17s and under-20s, scoring twice in the 2025 Copinha runners-up campaign, his first in the tournament.
