Gus, 46, has said goodbye to Servigroup Peñíscola, confirming he will not renew his contract with the Baix Maestrat club.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Toledo-born goalkeeper intends to continue playing futsal, though he did not disclose his next club or category. He was joined at his farewell by president Manuel Sierra, sporting director Alejandro Catalán, club officials, employees and members of the squad.

He reflected on a haul that included promotion, three Copa del Rey semi-finals, first place in the regular season and, above all, the Copa de España 2025.

He thanked the club for backing such a veteran goalkeeper, said he had joined on a one-year deal and described the period that followed as the best four of his career. He added he could not put into words how he had been treated and said he was proud to be part of the club’s family. He wished good luck to those staying and those moving on.

Sierra and Catalán hailed his contribution, saying he had already become an immortal legend and wishing him a strong finish to his playing career.

The supporters’ group El Fondo Sèquia offered an emotional farewell, saying few players connect with the stands as he did. They praised his humility, commitment, approachability and integrity, said he would be missed and that the club would always be his home.
