Winners

Erling Haaland (Norway)

Haaland delivered when his team needed him most, converting Patrick Berg's cross with a composed left-footed finish in the 86th minute to send Norway through to face Brazil. The goal extended his tournament tally to five and proved the difference in a tightly contested knockout tie.

Throughout the match, Haaland made his presence felt inside the area. He had an early header blocked by Odilon Kossounou in the third minute and forced Yahia Fofana into a comfortable save with another header in the 37th minute. A left-footed shot was deflected by Ibrahim Sangaré for a corner during a spell of Norwegian pressure.

His movement created space for teammates and stretched the Ivorian defence even when chances did not fall his way. When Oscar Bobb's through ball found Berg in space, Haaland positioned himself perfectly to finish the move and secure Norway's passage to the last 16.

Ørjan Nyland (Norway)

Nyland's saves preserved Norway's victory when Côte d'Ivoire threatened to force extra time. His finest moment came in the 96th minute when he flew to his left to tip Amad Diallo's curling free kick away from the top corner, a match-saving intervention.

Earlier in the second half, Nyland produced an excellent stop to deny Nicolas Pépé's curling effort toward the bottom corner. He also gathered Franck Kessié's close-range shot after the midfielder turned inside the area. A dangerous cross from Ghislain Konan that dipped toward goal also required sharp reactions from the goalkeeper.

While beaten by Diallo's well-struck equaliser, Nyland ensured Haaland's late goal remained the winner. His performance under sustained pressure allowed Norway to advance despite conceding 14 corners and absorbing lengthy spells of Ivorian dominance after half-time.

Loser

Ange-Yoan Bonny (Côte d'Ivoire)

Bonny struggled to provide the attacking focal point Côte d'Ivoire needed during his 60 minutes on the pitch. Leading the line against Norway's centre-backs, he found himself isolated and unable to hold the ball up effectively when service came his way.

The striker was dispossessed on multiple occasions when attempting to bring teammates into play with markers around him. Despite his team's attacking intent and territorial dominance in spells of the first half, Bonny failed to register a clear chance before being replaced by Elye Wahi at the hour mark.

His substitution proved significant as replacement Amad Diallo went on to score the equaliser. Bonny's inability to trouble Norway's defence or create opportunities for himself left Côte d'Ivoire without a target presence during a period when they needed to build pressure following Nusa's opening goal.
