Kicker reports that Hamburg are set to unveil their second summer signing in three days. The midfielder set to quickly follow new addition Patson Daka, Moroccan midfielder Bilal Nadir, has passed his club medical and will be unveiled on Friday. The 22-year-old is expected to enhance the competitive situation in midfield, where head coach Merlin Polzin often deployed three midfielders with various strengths in his late-season 3-4-1-2.
This, one can lay safe money on. The search for more direct attacking assistance will nevertheless take a back seat for the time being. Kicker also reports that 19-year-old Germany U19 international Otto Stange is en route to camp, having cut his summer leave of absence short in order to potentially shore up a starting position.
As noted in a previous Get German Football News piece on Hamburg, the Hanseatic city-staters also haven’t necessarily given up on the idea of bringing leading goal-scorer Fabio Vieira of Arsenal back for another season. At the very least, Stange will receive a long look as training camp in Längenfeld progresses.
