The injury list is building up for Olympique de Marseille ahead of a testing trip to face Real Madrid on Tuesday evening to kick off their Champions League campaign. After new signing Nayef Aguerd was ruled out following a head injury suffered against FC Lorient (4-0) this weekend. Now, according to a report from RMC Sport, Marseille will also have to travel without fellow new signing Hamad Junior Traoré due to a thigh injury. Junior Traoré was an unused substitute during OM’s Ligue 1 outing against Lorient last weekend, as Timothy Weah started on the attacking left flank. The Ivorian signed this summer on a €7m deal with a contract that will reportedly last until 2030. Aguerd is expected to be replaced by Leonardo Balerdi, whilst the absence of Traoré likely confirms another start for Timothy Weah – or an outside chance of a starting berth for new Brazilian signing Igor Paixao, who came off the bench for his debut against Lorient last Friday.
