Hansi Flick reveals details of Barcelona contract renewal | OneFootball

FC Barcelona do not have anything significant left to play for in the 2025-26 season, as they have already mathematically been confirmed as the La Liga champions. The Catalans still have three games left to officially end the season, and after that, the club would be able to focus fully on planning for the upcoming summer transfer window.

In this regard, there are several areas already worked out for the club, and one aspect that the Catalans are reportedly going to address ahead of anything else is the renewal of Hansi Flick. Some recent reports suggested that this renewal would have been announced as soon as the team wrapped up La Liga.

While an official statement in this regard from Barcelona has not yet come, Mundo Deportivo reports that Hansi Flick himself confirmed an agreement between himself and the club as he addressed a presser ahead of the game against Alaves.

Talking about this, the German coach said:

“I am very happy, both for myself and for giving my staff the confidence to work for one or two more years. Many coaches would be happy to have a contract of 3, 4, or 5 years, but in this case, at Barça, it is good to keep it limited, and I appreciate it. We will go until 2028, and we will see; if everything goes well, we will decide to stay one more year. The club has the right, I also have it, and it is a good agreement.”

Flick recalled how the event of his father’s passing particularly confirmed to him that he was in the right place:

“In recent days, it has become very clear to me that I am in the right place. I deeply appreciate everything they have given me and my family, and I am ready for next season. We have a big commitment ahead to work harder, reach the highest level, and win titles.”
