Wales winger Harry Wilson is ready to leave Fulham this summer, and Leeds United are pushing to sign him on a free with his Craven Cottage contract due to expire next week.
The Wales international is not short of suitors after his best Premier League campaign, but Leeds could have an edge with Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Karl Darlow and Daniel James already at Elland Road. Former England forward Alan Smith, writing for BestBettingSites.co.uk, said team-mates routinely compare clubs on international duty and suggested Wilson will have discussed life in West Yorkshire.
Smith cautioned that a move from Fulham to Leeds is not a step up on paper. He noted Leeds have held their own in the Premier League, although he was unsure how they will fare this coming season. He also described Fulham as the more established side.
He added that Wilson might have other offers given his quality and capacity for spectacular moments, and that having international colleagues at Leeds would not hurt.
Leeds tried to sign Wilson a year ago only for the move to fall through on deadline day. They are now hoping to finalise a deal for the new season and beyond, potentially without a fee if his contract lapses.
